As a group we have looked at a range of existing magazine adverts to get an idea of what they look like and how other artists have promoted themselves. I noticed that magazine adverts in comparison to album covers are very similar and often use the same photo in the same style.
With research we noticed we need to include certain points on our magazine cover:
- Release Date
- Star Rating
- How to buy - itunes, play.com, HMV
- Artists name
- Album name
- Well known songs
- featuring artists
- Photo that captures style & personality of star
We are currently at the stage of our magazine cover where we have edited the photo, using the same as our album cover, and have edited on our artists name 'Rasdall' and our album name 'Discovery'. We need to now put more detail and colour on there to make it more professional and eye catching for our target audience. Taylor Swifts album cover & Bow Wows album cover inspired us with the style of writing and we incorporated the two styles together.
