Copyright

"Copyright is a legal concept, enacted by most governments, giving the creator of an original work exclusive rights to it, usually for a limited time. Generally, it is "the right to copy", but also gives the copyright holder the right to be credited for the work, to determine who may adapt the work to other forms, who may perform the work, who may financially benefit from it, and other related rights. It is a form of intellectual property (like the patent, the trademark, and the trade secret) applicable to any expressible form of an idea or information that is substantive and discrete."

Throughout making our music video we have been very aware of copyright issues. We have taken certain ideas from other artists such as location settings, editing styles and costume styling for example from other artists as inspiration, but have never directly copied. We have had no issues throughout our music video with copyright until we started to plan our album cover. I think that the hardest part was trying to find a suitable album name for our artist to use, a lot of names which we suggested were already used by other artists. We planned to use the album name 'Discovery' but have just noticed that is has already been used by Tinie Tempah so we need to think of a new one before the deadline 29th Nov.
